Product overview
What does it do?
Nova Metronome is a free metronome that opens in your browser. You do not need to download a program, create an account or watch ads: open the page and press the big play button.
Highlights
- Accurate timing: Clicks are scheduled ahead on the browser's audio clock. The tempo does not drift, even when the tab is in the background or the phone is busy.
- Tempo: 20–300 BPM. A slider, ±1/±5/±10 buttons and fast change when held down. Find the tempo of a song by tapping the TAP button along with it.
- Time signature and accents: Bars of 1–16 beats. Ready-made signatures from 2/4 to 12/8; 7/8 (3+2+2) and aksak 9/8 (2+2+2+3) come with the right accents. Tap any beat to make it strong, medium, normal or silent, and build your own odd-meter rhythms.
- Subdivisions: 8ths, triplets, 16ths, swing, 8-16-16, 16-16-8 and quintuplets. The volume of the subdivision clicks is set separately.
- 6 sounds: Classic, Wood, Electronic, Bell, Drum and Clave.
- Practice tools:
- Speed trainer: raises your tempo step by step, for example "add 5 BPM every 4 bars, up to 140".
- Silent bars: for example plays 3 bars and stays silent for 1; builds your inner time.
- Random silent beats: randomly mutes some of the beats.
- Count-in and timer (stops by itself after 1–30 minutes).
- Visual feedback: A pendulum animation, lit beat boxes and an optional screen flash, so you can follow the tempo by eye on stage or without headphones.
- My saved settings: Save the settings of a song or exercise by name and bring them back with one tap. The data stays only on your device.
- Share link: Send your settings as a link to your student or bandmate; it opens with the same tempo, time signature and accents.
- Installs like an app: Add it to your phone with "Add to Home Screen" and it works offline. The screen stays on while it plays.
- Dark and light theme, Turkish and English.
- Keyboard shortcuts: Space to start/stop, arrow keys for tempo, T for tap tempo.
